Property value forms the basis of property taxes, which is a major source of funding for LFPD.
The district is now quite different from 60 years ago, when my parents bought the Village Mart at Hammond Rd. and Lindhurst Ave., and we moved from Walnut Creek to a mobile home just across the alley from the fire station. The Linda district has grown, and now has three fire stations.
