Watering restrictions are still in place around Yuba-Sutter.
YUBA COUNTY: (Valley Communities)
In the City of Marysville, California Water Service is in Stage 1 drought conditions. CalWater says “In Stage 1, there are no longer irrigation day restrictions on outdoor irrigation, unless local ordinances state otherwise, but other restrictions remain in place:
- Shut-off nozzles are required on hoses for car washing.
- Washing hard surfaces, such as power washing a driveway, is prohibited.
- Runoff from landscape irrigation is prohibited.
- Outdoor watering is prohibited within 48 hours of measurable rainfall.
- Landscape watering of newly constructed homes is prohibited.
- Decorative features, such as fountains, must use recirculated water.
- Customers are required to repair leaks, breaks, and malfunctions in a timely manner.”

South of Marysville In Linda, (including the parts of West Linda in the Olivehurst Zip Code) the Linda County Water District doesn’t seem to have any restrictions posted on its website: https://www.lindawater.com/
In Olivehurst and Plumas Lake, Olivehurst Public Utility District is apparently still in Level 2 of its Water Shortage Contingency Plan. There ARE restrictions, with dates and times for outdoor watering: No irrigation between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and NO irrigation on Mondays. “Odd numbered addresses can irrigate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays while even numbered addresses can irrigate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.”

In Southeastern Yuba County, the City of Wheatland doesn’t appear to have watering restrictions or information about water alerts, at least, none easily found on the City website:

We did find that the Wheatland City Municipal Code DOES have restrictions listed for a State 2 Water Alert:
No indication WHAT stage Wheatland is in.
SUTTER COUNTY:
In Yuba City, the City Council approved changes to the 2022 conservation rules this spring. The 2023 rules are posted on a Public Works Department page https://www.yubacity.net/city_hall/departments/public_works/utilities/water, but the Conservation page at https://www.yubacity.net/city_hall/departments/public_works/utilities/water/conservation/yuba_city_water has NOT been updated.
Yuba City Public Works advises: “Please remember, excessive water waste is still a water violation, including:
- Irrigation within 48 hours after rainfall
- Excessive watering resulting in gutter flooding
- Using a hose without a shutoff nozzle
- Washing down hard surfaces such as sidewalks and driveways
- Using a non-recirculating fountain
- Not repairing leaks in a timely manner”
In Northeastern Sutter County, the City of Live Oak doesn’t seem to have any watering restrictions, at least none we could find on the City website: https://www.liveoakcity.org/home
In Sutter, by the Buttes… the Sutter Community Services District asks “that you please water lawns just two times per week and that you water in the early mornings before 9:00 a.m. This helps keep the District from running the pumps during peak PG&E hours late afternoon and early evening.”

In southwestern Sutter County, the community of Robbins is served by Golden State Water Company. It reports some changes to water restrictions:
“Effective Sunday, May 14, 2023, Golden State Water Company modified outdoor watering restrictions to allow for watering up to three days per week. Given that water conditions will continue to evolve, customers are encouraged to use water wisely and only use what is needed.
Golden State Water is recommending customers limit outdoor irrigation between the hours of 7 PM and 8 AM per the following schedule:
